On a more desi note, Piano maestro and music director Stephen Devassy will be playing before none other than Pope Francis, at the end of this month. Stephen will be playing as part of the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 22 to 28, and the performance will be on the last day, when the Pope will be visiting the city. "Stephen is part of a Christian band and they will be playing a compilation of their albums at Rio. Stephen will be doing a solo keyboard performance as well," said Samuel Devassy, Stephen's brother and manager. "It is a great honour for him to sing before the Pope," says Samuel.

Only a few selected bands are chosen to play before the Pope on World Youth Day. This will also make Stephen the only Indian musician to play before three Popes; he has played as part of the band for Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI as well. Other than Stephen, singer Alphonse will also be singing in the same band.
